What Is Brazilian Limeade?

I’ve seen this refreshing drink referred to as Brazilian Limeade and Brazilian Lemonade. Lemonade limeade? What’s the correct name? Neither!

The Portuguese word “limão” actually refers to both lemons and limes. In Brazil, this drink is also nicknamed Swiss Lemonade.

This Spiked Brazilian only requires 3 ingredients — limes, sugar, and the secret ingredient to elevate a simple limeade tothe next level: sweetened condensed milk.

This stuff is liquid gold!If gold was sweet, creamy, and oh-so-tasty that is!What could possibly make this tart creamy limeade even better?

Booze, my friends, booze.Since this is called Brazilian Limeade, I choose a spirit that hails from the same country: cachaça.

What Is Cachaça?

Cachaça is a popular Brazilian spirit that can also be commonly found in Caipirinhas. It’s clear and spicy yet sweet.

Although cachaça is made from sugar cane juice (like rhum agricole), it is notconsidered a rum. It has a similar flavor profile to some white rums but has more earthy notes.

Playaround with it in your favorite rum drinks by replacing the rum called for with cachaça to mix upyour summer co*cktail go-tos or lemonade recipe.
